JPMF was founded in memory of a little boy named Joey with developmental
disabilities who loved the water. Joey’s memory lives on through the smiles and laughter
of the kids who participate in programs like JPMF Splash!. Now, JPMF presents Our Special
Harbor Spray Spark -- a place for kids like Joey to be with their peers exploring with their
senses and imagination in a safe environment.
The Special Harbor Spray Park will be part of a family-focused outdoor recreation
complex at Lee District Park of Fairfax County. The Spray Park, with zero water depth, will
be a sensory and creative center point for the recreational area. Our Special Harbor will be a
tribute to one of the places Joey loved best, the Chesapeake Bay.

JPMF is a special harbor for the families we serve by providing networking, funding for unique
programs and equipment, and community awareness for individuals with disabilities. JPMF supporters
recognize the need for greater access to recreational programs for people of all abilities and ages.
Please join our capital campaign to make Our Special Harbor a reality for Summer 2010. Sponsorship
opportunities and a schedule of fundraising events will be posted shortly. To become involved or
to receive more information, please contact Paola Pizzano (703) 928-8811
